Some FAQs from LA

Hello and happy 2024 from our new (and temporary) home in Hollywood! We’ve been riding the big waves of transition and expanding our chocolate business which is proving to be a true test of our devotion, motivation, and creativity in all areas. Some of our favorite lessons and experiences from January include sharing chocolate, making connections, and answering questions… especially about what kind of mushrooms we’re putting in our chocolate. While we’re big advocates for the now immensely researched benefits of psilocybin and other plant medicines (and look forward to using this platform to bring those conversations and experiences into a less taboo space), the chocolate we’re sharing at events and in retail stores does not have “THAT kind of psychedelic mushroom”. Our chocolate is made with organic, meticulously sourced ingredients including cacao, coconut sugar, sprouted nut butters, and adaptogenic mushrooms that are not trippy but are full of major health benefits:

We have also been getting a lot of questions about how we got in to making chocolate which had us thinking about this wild journey from our experimentation phase in the ol’ Memphis kitchen to living in LA and really giving this whole chocolate business a shot! If you had asked us in 2021 if we could see ourselves running a business in LA in 2024, we would’ve thought you ate a little too much of the magic mushrooms.

It started with us making adaptogenic lattes in the evenings and really getting into the art of cacao and herbalism. We were also regularly buying chocolate bars and disappointed with the ingredients and quality, so we decided to try turning our cacao latte recipes into clean, healthy chocolate bars (that also can be melted into the most amazing adaptogenic hot chocolate lattes). Then we moved off-grid to Santa Fe, New Mexico, delving deeper in the creative side of our recipes, flavor combinations, ingredient sourcing, chocolate bar and packaging design, whilst sharing our chocolate with friends, family, and community. Many off-grid stories and shenanigans later, we’ve made our way to LA and are excited to see that we’re not the only ones wanting cleaner, healthier, adaptogenic chocolate bars. We’re looking forward to sending updates on where you can find our chocolate in a store near you.
